API Terms

The full API Terms will be published here before developer accounts open. Until then, these are the ground rules the API is built around.

No consumer personal data. Requests take ages, tobacco use, ZIP codes, NPIs and RxCUIs only. Never send names, birth dates, SSNs or member IDs.
No resale or redistribution of raw data. Use the data inside your own product; do not republish it as a dataset.
Provenance. Data comes from public CMS marketplace files and carrier machine-readable sources. Responses carry the data version and as-of dates; network and formulary status can be "unknown".
Fair use. Respect the daily limits and Retry-After. Keys used for scraping or enumeration may be disabled.
Server to server. Keep client secrets out of browsers and mobile apps.
Not advice. Estimates are not tax, legal or insurance advice.
